Ed Sheeran at Letzigrund – Two Nights, One Feeling

At the beginning of August, Zurich was transformed into a stage for big emotions – and Letzigrund took centre stage.

Ed Sheeran played two sold-out concerts at Letzigrund Stadium on 2 and 3 August 2025. Over 100,000 fans experienced music, light and emotion on these evenings with an intensity that radiated beyond the stadium into the whole city.

Zurich under the sign of music

Hours before the concert began, the streets around the Letzigrund filled with expectant fans. There was a peaceful, excited atmosphere in the air – people from all over Europe had come to experience one of the greatest songwriters of our time live.

When Ed Sheeran took to the stage, the cheers were deafening. From the first chord, there was magic in the air: flames and lights bathed the sky in colour as he used his guitar, looper and voice to create soundscapes that transformed the stadium into an intimate space.

Two nights full of goosebumps

What made the evenings at the Letzigrund so special was the mixture of intimacy and spectacle. Monumental show moments with pyrotechnics and lasers were followed by quiet ballads sung by 50,000 voices in the choir.

One special moment that many will remember: a newly married couple who came in their wedding dresses and jackets – and celebrated their wedding night with Ed Sheeran. A symbol of how music connects people and writes stories.

Thousands of mobile phone lights made the Letzigrund look like a sparkling sea – an atmosphere of euphoria and devotion that remained palpable even after the final notes.

The Letzigrund as an emotional stage

For Zurich, these two nights were far more than concerts – they were an event that showed how music creates community. The Letzigrund became a stage for great emotions, a place where closeness and ecstasy can coexist.

With Ed Sheeran’s concerts, the stadium wrote another chapter in its history – as a place where world stars perform, emotions are shared and memories are created that last.

When the lights go out and the city plunges back into the night, there is a feeling that lingers for a long time:

The Letzigrund is not just a stadium. It is a place where music becomes history.
